Polk Community College

Over 26,000 degrees have been awarded by Polk Community College and an even larger number of people have taken college courses for transfer or to obtain job entry skills. That’s thousands and thousands of success stories that PCC has made happen, since 1964- the College’s first year.

Polk Community College’s Associate in Arts (AA) programs are parallel and equal to those offered in the state university system. Approximately 65 per cent of PCC’s graduates earn AA degrees and are guaranteed admission as juniors to Florida’s universities and private colleges. The College also has Associate in Science (AS) degrees and Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees leading directly to employment. In addition, several certificate programs and continuing education classes are offered by PCC.

PCC Foundation Scholarships

Lesson: PCC Foundation Scholarships; Many scholarship opportunities are available for students through the Polk Community College Foundation, Inc. Last year, the PCC Foundation administered over 600 endowed and private scholarships.

Student Activities Spotlight: International Circle

Lesson: PPC International Circle; Polk Community College International Circle is an organization whose members represent diverse cultural and ethnic groups brought together to explore various cultures of the world and to introduce them to the college and local communities. We believe that the true spirit of America and of its people, as well as its uniqueness, are found in its cultural and ethnic diversity; therefore, we consider introducing and learning about different cultures to be one of our main priorities.

The Workforce Guarantee @ PPC

Lesson: The Workforce Guarantee @ PPC; Polk Community College will provide the coursework and academic preparation necessary to earn a specific Associate in Science [A.S.] degree, Associate in Applied Science [A.A.S.] degree, College Credit Certificate or Vocational Certificate. In programs for which licensure, certification or registry examinations are appropriate, program coursework will also prepare the student for successful completion of any certification, registry, or licensure examination associated with the specific program.
